I am new at Apple. I’ve never had one before, and I decided that I wanted an iphone to start. Since I travel a lot, I decided to get it unlocked, just like I did with all my previous phones. The apps, music, photos and videos, they were all gone. I thought that changing the SIM to the original one would fix it, but nothing happened. In our last article we talked about tablet pcs, and now we’ll take a look at the EEE Pad Transformer from Asus, a wide tablet with a 1280×800 resolution. The guys at Asus struck a home run in the design section of this product, because let me say it, it looks awesome. The case has a texture with a nice feel to it and it’s very adherent. The touchscreen display is a 10.1 incher, which is quite large enough to encourage certain applications, games, movies, but we’ll get to that in a sec.

The Eee Pad Transformer’s dock is made up of a chiclet keyboard and instead of your usual F1-F12 keys you can find shortcuts to a few commands. The tablet is pretty light weight, at 680 grams and quite small, at 271x171x13 mm.

This tablet uses the system on a chip or SOC for short technology and it includes the ARM Cortex A9 processor running at 1 GHz and a GeForce 333 graphic chipset. RAM memory is extensive for a tablet, 1 GB to be precise. As for the internal flash memory you will have to choose from 16 or 32 GB. The integrated camera on the back side of the tablet has a resolution of 5 MP and the front one only 1.2, but I’m not sure how many of you would want to use a tablet for a photo camera, I mean, let’s be honest.

To sum it all up, Asus Eee Pad Transformer is one of the first tablets that use the Android 3.0 Honeycomb system. The battery life of around 10 hours is a big plus for this guy and the dock, featuring a keyboard and battery is a big asset. On top of that, it’s quite affordable, too. So if you’re looking for a sweet tablet, here it is.
