What is the German word for BITCH?
My German friends have told me that is Schlampe. However, that is the word bitch. They say it's just the worst insult you can give someone. However, my German – English dictionary does not give a defintion for the word B ****. What is the literal definition B ****? Both when it comes to a woman a bitch and rude.
Sedor is correct in the grand scheme, but in practice these words get in the way sometimes =) For example: If a woman is very malicious and hateful, Zicke (tsick'uh) would be the best word to describe it. If she sleeps around a lot, then Schlampe would be best. However, if she just cut it in traffic, then you probably want to use instead of Zicke Schlampe. If you look Schlampe in Duden, you'll find this definition: "Frau, als deren Lebensführung unmoralisch angesehen wird" (about a woman who is considered to be living a life immoral). Certainly, this may refer to sexual immorality, but that does not mean that no sexual immorality (eg, bad driving). In sum, the word b English '* Tch' covers the territory controlled by two different German words =) PS A dog is 'Hündin'
