What would the author of a non-popular non-fiction book?
I'm talking about the kind of book that might get checked out of the library 5 times in 10 years or ends at the 1 / 2 price table at Barnes & Noble.
Non-fiction, not a captive audience targeting college course? You can see an advance of $ 5,000 to $ 10,000, and not cover the advance plus the cost of sales. The advance may be higher if you can prove to be a demand for the book. There is a reason why textbooks cost so much, its the only way to make a profit on poor sales.
